Leadership Biography

Dulf Vincent Genis is a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, pursuing dual degrees in Information Science and Data Science, along with a minor in Spanish. His unwavering commitment to professional development is evidenced by his diverse range of certifications, including Leadership, Technology Commercialization, and Scrum Master, highlighting his dedication in all professional sectors.

Dulf's professional background includes experiences at various institutions, including city governments, the U.S. Department of Education, and Digital Promise. These experiences have significantly influenced his career, leading to roles in public service, community relations, and policy. He is deeply passionate about making a positive impact in his community.

Proficient in both music and multiple languages, Dulf possesses a unique skill set that enhances his ability to facilitate effective collaboration with a humanistic touch.

Currently, Dulf serves as a Scrum Master at the Ameren Innovation Center, where he leads innovative projects. His exceptional organizational skills and unwavering dedication set the standard for his peers, making him a valuable asset to any team. His journey is characterized by continuous growth and an unwavering commitment to excellence, aiming to be a role model for others to follow.

Dulf's engagement with the Leadership Certification Program began as soon as he set foot on the University of Illinois campus. His acceptance into the Illinois Scholars Program introduced him to Cecilia Vaughn-Guy, one of the coordinators, who, upon learning about his prior leadership experiences, particularly in community development and government initiatives, encouraged him to participate in the Certification Program. 

Throughout his academic journey, Dulf extensively utilized the resources provided by the Illinois Leadership Center. He takes pride in having completed the program, which has contributed to a more profound understanding of his current self and his aspirations as a leader. Additionally, it has equipped him with a better comprehension of the invaluable resources available through the Center and across the campus. Most importantly, it has deepened his connection and understanding of the community he is a part of.
